Prudent Use of Antifungals in Hospital Settings

Case-Based Clinical Training for Healthcare Professionals

Challenge

Antifungal treatments require careful clinical decision making, yet training healthcare professionals in antifungal stewardship can be difficult in traditional educational formats.
The challenge was to translate specialized medical knowledge into an interactive digital course that helps physicians and healthcare professionals practice clinical reasoning in realistic patient scenarios.

Approach

The course was designed as an interactive online program hosted on the Hospital Universitario Nacional learning platform using Moodle.
Similar to the antimicrobial stewardship course, the learning experience follows a problem-based structure where learners analyze patient cases, interpret clinical information, and make treatment decisions. This approach mirrors the diagnostic reasoning used in real hospital environments.
The course combines expert clinical instruction with visually structured modules that guide learners through complex medical topics.
